A Family Church……………….

Here at St Annes, we try to cater for all ages and for those of any or no church background. We welcome children and families to all of our church services and activities and were proud recipients of the Child Friendly Church Award in 2009.

 

Worship…………

You are more than welcome to bring your child or children to any of our services. We do not expect children to be seen and not heard! What is most important to us is that children enjoy coming to church.

 

Please consider sitting where your child can see what's going on, and don't be too worried about a little noise!

 

There are play bags and books available at the back of church, and there is a room which  can be used to take your child into should you feel the need. You can see and hear the service in this room. Toys, changing and toilet facilities are also available here.

 

Many of our children and young people become more involved in Church life through serving, bell ringing or joining the choir. We also have a variety of group activities especially for children, young people and families: -

 

PRE-SCHOOL CHILDREN

NURSERY PRAISE

3rd Tuesday each month at 2pm

This is a special activity for pre-school children. There is a very short and informal service in Church, with some songs, ringing the bell, a story and some prayers. This is followed by an age-appropriate craft activity, and a drink and a light snack. Parents and/or carers come too 

 

BABY AND TODDLER GROUP
Wednesdays in term time at 2pm
This is an informal play group for pre-school children & their parents & carers, meeting on Wednesdays in term time, at 2:00-3:30pm in the Parish Rooms.

 


INFANT SCHOOL CHILDREN

SEE AND KNOW

First and Third Sunday of the month  at 10:15am during term time
We meet in the Parish Rooms from 10am and start our activities at 10.15am. Each meeting we have a story, crafts, songs and a prayer. We  join the service in Church later.  Parents/carers come too.  See & Know is aimed at children already at school, in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, with their younger siblings and any preschool children aged 4 and over very welcome to come along too.

 

 

 

JUNIOR SCHOOL CHILDREN

CHILDREN'S CHURCH

First & third Sunday during term time at 10.15am.

Children's Church is aimed at children in School Year 3 upwards. Each meeting starts in the Parish Rooms with a short time of worship, with crafts, games, music and other activities. We join the service in Church later.

 

ALL AGE FAMILY WORSHIP

MESSY CHURCH

We meet on a Saturday roughly once a month at 4pm in Church - check the "What's On" page for session dates.
Lots of family fun and informal Worship in Church, for children of all ages. Each Messy Church session has a theme based around a Bible story, with various craft activities to compliment this. We finish our worship with a light meal for all the children to share.

 

 

"CHILD-FRIENDLY" PARADE SERVICES

Second Sunday of the month, except August
Children and young people of all ages are welcome at any of our services but on the second Sunday of the month young people from our Children's Church and Uniformed Organisations (Scouting and Guiding groups) get to play lead roles in our worship. Fr David always has something up his sleeve to to engage the children with his sermon and has even been known to fly a kite inside Church!
